Inner child healing: listening to the child you were.
It’s a gentle way of understanding the younger part of you that still carries what you needed, felt and learned back then, and of offering it some of what was missing.
A kind way to talk about old feelings.
“Inner child” is a way of talking about the part of you that still carries what you felt, needed and learned when you were young. It isn’t a literal child, and it isn’t a diagnosis. It’s a kind way to describe how old feelings can show up now.
You may not have been given what you needed. You can begin to give some of it to yourself.
Healing here is gentle and practical. You listen. You answer kindly. You do it in small moments, again and again.
Some of it can stir old feelings. Go slowly, and stop whenever you need to.

Things people often ask.
Is the inner child real?
It’s a way of speaking, not a literal person or a diagnosis. Many people find it a kind way to describe how old feelings show up now. If the idea doesn’t feel right for you, you can skip it and still use the tools.
Do I need to remember my childhood?
No. Many people don’t remember much, and you don’t need to. You can start from what you feel now.
What is reparenting?
It means offering yourself, as an adult, some of the care, patience and safety you may not have received. It happens in small ways, like speaking to yourself more kindly.
Can it bring up painful feelings?
It can. Old feelings may come up as you slow down. Go gently, take breaks, and stop whenever you need to. If it feels like too much, please reach out to a professional or someone you trust.
Is this therapy?
No. These pages are for education and personal reflection. Some people use them alongside professional support, and they can’t replace it.
Where should I start?
You could read the short guide “What Is Inner Child Healing?”, or sit with a Still Waters teaching. There’s no right place to begin.
When a few minutes isn’t enough.
The Full Healing Journey Kit gathers a fuller set of guides and exercises in one place, for the slower days when you’d like to go further.
